"catapult the propaganda" was a phrase George W. Bush was probably not intended to parrot, but it was one of his few truthful statements in the run-up and prosecution of the aggression against Iraq.
I know I've found it useful. Catapulting the propaganda for peace has to be just as relentless as the war mongers'. More so, because war mongering is easy, especially when others can be tagged to fight, while self-restraint is hard.
The message from Seacoast Peace Response reads:
Author and peace activist Frida Berrigan will speak and read excerpts from her new book,"It Runs in the Family: On Being Raised by Radicals and Growing into Rebellious Motherhood."
Wednesday, June 3rd at 7 pm
Portsmouth Public Library Levenson Room
"It Runs in the Family" is a book about how parents can create lasting and meaningful bulwarks between their kids and the violence endemic in our culture. It posits discipline without spanks or slaps or threats of violence, while considering how to raise thoughtful, compassionate, fearless young people committed to social and political change.
Frida will sign copies of her book after the talk. Her appearance in Portsmouth is sponsored by Seacoast Peace Response and by Occupy Seacoast.
Also want to call attention to the fact that Occupy, despite not being catapulted by the press, is still alive and well and active all over.
