I think I've hit upon a smart way for us to deal with Iran: get into bed with them.
If we were to sign a mutual defense treaty with Iran, it would accomplish several worthwhile things.
First, it would enable Iran to give up any pathway to the bomb. If the US guaranteed the country's safety, they wouldn't need to build their own bomb.
Second, it would thereby ensure that Israel no longer need worry about getting nuked by Tehran.
Thirdly, it would give the fight against Isis a credible land-based army to work at getting rid of them.
Finally, it would give us an opportunity, over time, to normalize relations with a country whose population is generally considered to be friendly to America.
Pretty good, eh?
